Redesign Your School Athletic Pavilion | 2014 National High School Architecture Competition #211
|Currently our school campus has segregated academic and athletic facilities, which makes exercising less accessible. My plan is to integrate exercise and academics to contribute to the overall mental and physical health of students. By increasing the availability and quality of exercise facilities, students will be more inclined to relieve stress via physical activity, or relaxation in the new facility.
As well as having a focus towards accessibility I want this facility that allows sunlight into every room. I also plan on making the new facility more desirable to students with the inclusion of a green roof.
I also plan on creating a space that inspires students to exercise through the spirit of competition. This can be achieved through a climbing rope which measures students times and gives them the option to display their best time climbing the rope in comparison to other students which can then be viewed.
The main purpose of my facility will be to get students to be more active with through the spirit of competition and more easier to get to facilities.
