Hello, my name is William Morgan and I am currently a senior at Camden County High School. My school's gym is very rustic in design, and I would like to keep that aspect of the gym. The majority of the gym is made of wood, as the basketball court is made of a very traditional hard wood floor and the walls of the gym are mostly made of a wood composite as well. The gym itself lets in a lot of natural light throughout the upper terraces, and that's definitely a good thing for the people that are inside the gym. I also like that the bleachers are made of a very eco-friendly plastic, and they fold up into the wall, as they're retractable, when they are not being used to give the gym users more space when performing numerous athletic events. One thing that worries me about the gymnasium, however, is the fact that only two major sporting events, basketball and volleyball, can be played in the building. However, the football field is out the back door of the gymnasium, as is the baseball field, so other sports may be played nearby the gym. In my redesigning of the gymnasium, I hope to create more space for more sports, and also I would like to preserve the natural hardwood floors of the basketball and volleyball court, and I would also like to possibly create enough room to create an indoor track, because that's one thing that the school lacks and I believe that having a state of the art track would be very beneficial for the school.
