Pocket Park Design | 2015 National High School Architecture Competition
|A new pocket park has been proposed in the area of 89106 in an effort to provide open public areas in the housing area and create another community space for families. The park will accomodate to all age groups and will attempt to bring the local community together. It will incorporate aspects of universal design, sustainability, and green spaces. Recycled materials and solar power will be incorporated to re-use materials and provide a self-sustaining park. The goal of this project is to enrich and develop the growing community around it. Families and friends can interact and enjoy their time in this private area that they normally would not have access to. Not only that, a nearby park will provide a space for children to exercise, especially in the age of computer where exercise has been minimized. Hopefully this space will be able to contribute to the positive environment that enriches those who utilize it.
