Desert Sands Park
|Pocket parks have the ability to transform empty spaces into energetic and active community spaces. They can provide gathering places for events in places that the public can easily access. Pocket parks are usually small lots of land that are re-purposed with the goals of the community in mind. In Las Vegas, suburban communities require gathering space separate from the entertainment industry that keeps the city bustling with tourism. The pocket park will be built at the intersection of 6th Street and Garces Avenue in the downtown district. This will provide an open space for the surrounding neighborhoods, as well as for law offices that are in close proximity.
