Project Reverse Desert
|The mission to my project is to provide an area near my high school where silence and nature can make someone forget about stress or worries momentarily. A place where one can relieve themselves from a long jog or to sit and sketch the city, under the shade of trees. A different scene for children and their parents to enjoy themselves at, to no longer have to travel miles from home to experience the same effect as a pocket park in this area can give.

Thank you for setting clear goals for your park. I also enjoyed all the inspiration images--especially all of the local examples. It helped me create clear expectations for the park. The arches on the final image were a nice touch. I also was very excited to see so many sketches for this project.
I would have loved to see you write about whether or not your pocket park met any of these goals in your final step. Do you really think it's a place for teens or do you see only adults valuing the look of the park and feeling welcome?
Really great work!

I really appreciate your very clear examples of inspiration! You justified every element in your park with the research that inspired it! In your final design, I would take the time and effort to place it in the environment. Your park reads very different as something in the ocean (or maybe sky) than it would in a neighborhood. Great job on your park. Keep up the good work!
