Summary

I have successfully collected data by looking at the demographics of the surrounding area of my floor plan. By doing this I have found the physicality of neighborhood and economic stability. Other than the demographics, I researched adaptive reuse, and how the modern pocket parks look in Las Vegas. Thus, to sustain the aesthetic mentality. I found that importing rocks and mulch is favored.

In addition, knowing how to use natural resources was a big component. As quoted by KIB, an architecture corporation, states that, "planting native is key to ensure that the right food source is present for the birds, bees, butterflies and other important wildlife that is present. For example, the monarch butterfly population is dwindling because of the lack of common milkweed in our yards and spaces…”

Another crucial aspect was to integrate, “…shade elements (trees, trellises, etc.), a means for air circulation, a water feature, and a higher percentage of plant material vs. hardscape. Think of ways to create a respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.” This prominent advice from Mr. Caro helped me to use trees as shade elements and to use a water feature.

Lastly, an Eco-friendly pocket park was something I used in various ways. I also implemented solar panels and wind mills, to help save energy of the surrounding area, since there is a lack there of. In all, this research aided me to create greenery nestled zone in Las Vegas.
