The New Age

These are the inspirational images that have provoked ideas for my project's design. I want my pocket park site to be different. It should please the naked eye up close and afar, but still account for the surrounding environment. So, the first thing that popped into my mind was looking into drought resistant or minimal water plants. But plants weren’t the only thing to make up the park; the walkways will play an important role in the development of my park too. Some of the popular trees that I came across were the Ashe-Singleleaf, Willow-Desert Willow, Catclaw Acacia, and the Mesquite-Honey Mesquite. When searching for walkway materials online a couple pictures struck my interest. I wanted a multiuse type of walkway (Ex: running, walking, ect.) that would easily transition into the different spaces around the park. One of the first things to take into consideration would be the vast amount of heat these materials would be taking in. So, I stumbled upon a couple materials like concrete, stone, and wood; they’re all relatively weather resistant and can still provide for good looking aesthetics.

Did you know that you can Request a new bike rack in your area? Cities all over the U.S. have multiple types of bike racks they can install and all you have to do is submit a request.
