The New Age
04/27/15
One of the first things we were taught in our architecture class was to observe the surrounding environment of the site. So, here is a demographic study showing the surrounding communities of people who may visit the pocket park. What I didn’t include in the above images is the amount of private businesses that surrounds the pocket park. With this in mind, I kind of wanted to steer away from the average loud, noisy, and children enriched park. Obviously I still want everyone to feel welcome in the park, but I believe the right group to target in this situation is the individuals of the surrounding businesses. They deserve a place where they can escape the stress of work and enjoy wondrous and beautiful scenery.
