With adults spending at least a third of their day in the city, the need for greenspace in the metropolitan areas is a growing necessity. In major American cities, there is a lack of parks to facilitate and serve the growing general public. At the site at Garces and South Sixth Street, there are two parks within the proximity, each requiring transportation to reach them. The area is populated with a mix of residential neighborhoods as well as office buildings and businesses. When going for one's lunch break, driving to a park is unconventional and unrealistic; the addition of a pocket park would allow homeowners and business men/women an area to unwind.
