Pocket Park 2015
05/13/15
This is a drawing I've completed to reveal what entities exist in the park prior to me modifying it using both a compass and a straightedge. I've included all of the tables, trees, benches, trashcans, sidewalks, and fences, and the one gazebo. I've also included the valley as well as the nearby street name. I now realize what exactly Le Corbusier was trying to convey in his quote mentioned in the Brainstorm Ideas summary. Drawing the park with such intent has provided more depth and an intimate understanding of the tangible formatting of the park. As I was translating the park from an aerial satellite image into a hand drawn composition, I began to uncover new ideas for potential structures I may implement within my design. A decent involving one's capacity for art and more minutely drawing is crucial in the architectural realm. I will definitely focus on sharpening my drawing ability immensely.
