RAMMED EARTH ANALYSIS - The only actual building on the entire site will be the building housing the bathrooms. It will be constructed out of rammed earth. The Springs Preserve of Las Vegas features many sturdy and sustainable buildings that feature rammed earth construction. The density, thermal conductivity, and thickness of a rammed earth construction makes it suitable material for passive solar heating. It makes much more sense to construct a building out of something that is readily available in Las Vegas, soil and cement, than lumber, which is not as readily available in Las Vegas. In addition, rammed earth construction generates little waste and the maintenance is very cost effective.
