One way to facilitate a community atmosphere, is to have a community garden. Even one on a smaller scale, allows members of the neighborhood to come together to ensure the stability of the garden, leading to conversation and interact in the area. The picnic area features wall-mounted planters (green walls for standing plants), orange trees and other vegetation lining the patio, and an apple tree as the feature. Also notice the recycling bin next to the trash bin. Recycling was one of the main concepts which I sought to incorporate in my design, reinforcing the idea as much as possible.
