When designing spaces like yours, keeping it simple is often times is the best approach. Municipalities are not looking at elaborate designs or exorbitant costs when looking to transform small areas eligible to become pocket parks. Your design embodies and does a great job of this! Just remember to keep in mind the space you have to work with. What do you suppose will happen to the rest of the open lot and curved lot line of the residential neighborhood? Could you have extended your design to incorporate this area? Can the park transcend the property lines and become more of the neighborhood it's adjacent to?

Often times municipal parks, especially smaller ones like yours, incorporate irrigation systems tied off from the municipal water supply- which is already in place. Often times they're justified in that the costs to manually maintain or replace plants is significantly greater than a one time cost of installation and very minimal routine maintenance of the irrigation system itself. A park like yours seems to be a great candidate for this.

It's great to see that you're looking at just who this park is for, but also remember that just as equally important is who is it going to be for. Design is just as important in the future if you want something to attain longterm use and success. Looking at population and neighborhood trends are great things to look at as well.

Great work on this project! Inventive, clear and thoughtful. Great drawings and labels during your develop solutions steps. I can see exactly what you described throughout your steps including park interactions. Because I am such a big fan of you drawings, I would have actually liked to have seen a more detailed hand-made rendering of your park, because that would have really tied things together for me.

You also did a great deal of writing that I found very helpful in putting things together.

GREAT job.

Park interactions such as these are great! They really are becoming more popular as community feedback and interaction are becoming more popular.

This is a great open space for a possible park. My first thought would be to connect the resident zone on the bottom right corner to the park itself.

Researching is very important in this project and good that you researched the neighborhood and got to know more for who is it suited for and how to use that space as useful as can be.

Yes, I definitely agree I should add more elements and components to my park and perhaps more walkways to access different areas of the park. Thank you for your comments and suggestions.
