Cafeteria Flaws
In my cafeteria there are quite a few flaws. Some of the flaws are:
-Floor
-Walls
-Ceiling
-Lighting
-Lunch line
-Heating
-Undesirable color
The floor is made up of small, 4 x 4 concrete tiles. These tiles have grooves in them that make it hard to clean. The walls are another problem. The walls are painted concrete block; they are also very hard to clean due to the uneven texture. The ceiling is made up of acoustical panels, but it seems that it makes the cafeteria louder. The lighting is florescent, and is very dim at times. There is inadequate exterior lighting due to the placement of the windows. The lunch lines are another problem. The students get in line, and it takes too long due to the one sided lunch line. The final flaw is the heating systems. The heating systems are a little big, and take up quite a lot of room. The heaters work well, but due to the placement of the heater; some of the smaller ones are hard to get to maintain. The cafeteria is such an undesirable color. It’s a yellowish-white color.
There are a few things I’d like to look into fix this cafeteria:
-Pavement/radiant heated flooring
-Sound absorbent paneling for the ceiling
-Floated wood paneling walls
-Sky lighting/natural lighting
-More assessable/more efficient heating
