Pocket Park Design 2015 NHSAC Schnabel
|problem statement
the goal of the “2015 discover design contest” is to create a pocket park including the variables of specific need of a pocket park such as the friendly environmental impact it has to the community in creating a small nature preserve, and meeting point within the area of the local township of relaxation, hang outs, and small parties. it also must include the nature of physical activity to help with physical health factor of a small park. with all of these in one park it must all flow with a natural feel and a calming enjoyment to the community.
my goal is to create a mixture of a small natural flow of a preservation of the environment to the species around the area and a small gathering area for the community to have special events, hang out, or relax. the park must include trail of sorts to connect the areas in which are separated by small patches of plants to help keep a balance of noise pollution down and to separate a matching group of plants that go together, with in these small pockets of open or shaded land it will include small sitting areas and physical activity devises that don’t interrupt the flow of nature.
