Pocket Park
|A Pocket Park is a simple, small, and enjoyable park for young children as well as for parents to enjoy in the nice shade while watching their kids. It also allows parents to communicate with other parents from the same neighborhood. The reason we chose 5029 S Lawndale Ave Chicago, IL 60632 to be our location is because it's near a populated area and it is a great spot where people can come to communicate and meet new people. The reason for this pocket park is to bring the community together since it's near houses where neighbors do not really know each other. Saying that, people can meet each other. The park will include a playground for kids to play in, as well as benches with their shades so adults can sit & communicate with each other. The park will include artificial murals showing the beautiful artifacts Chicago has to offer. The pocket park will contain a little court for teens to play sports either basketball or soccer. That way teens can also enjoy this pocket park and get to play with friends or meet new people. The park will include a walk path around the park for those who like to run or walk on their own time for exercise. The park will be available to anyone of any age as well as race. The park will be fenced around for the protection of the kids for example, let's say a kids ball goes over the street they will run the risk of being hit by a vehicle that is why fencing will be provided. Our park will have enough space for man extra activities such as yoga on the grass side. There will be yoga instructors if people are interested in learning a new activity. I hope this project will bring adults, teens, and kids together to make our community safer.
