Bus Shelters for Pittsburgh

Summary

For this step, I researched bus stops in Pittsburgh, where I lived. Bus stops are meant as a waiting area for bus passengers. They are usually on the sidewalk and include an overhead cover and a bench. One problem with bus stops in Pittsburgh is that there is not a lot of space, especially for crowded stops, and not a lot of protection from weather. Even though there is an overhead cover, rain and snow usually falls at an angle, which means those in the bus stop could still get wet. There is also no protection from the sun. Waiting in these enclosed areas can also get boring. In Pittsburgh, it can take up to 30 minutes in between buses, and sitting on a bench for that long can get boring and uncomfortable. There are no forms of entertainment in these areas besides ads which are usually on the walls.
