The reason why my class decided to take upon this challenge is because my school has decided to build an outdoor garden to not only beautify the school, allow for interaction between students and nature but to potentially profit from some of these organically grown greens. What better way to advertise and sell our farm food than student designed carts? This project directly also directly ties with my goal to construct a practical and affordable food cart that can realistically be built with materials accessible to us both locally and affordability.
Surrounded by railroads, warehouses, commercial plazas and a very busy avenue is High Tech High School. However, there can be a few advantages to the location of my school. Ideally the location can be a very interactive area with people from outside the area, visitors, are never too far away, which can potentially bring business to a food cart on campus. Our lack of foliage and overwhelming paved grounds doesn’t necessarily give off a food cart vibe, at least, not yet. However, with a garden filled with green plants and a stationary compact food stand near; the ambiance can quickly shift from an industrial paved desert to a thriving serenity garden with the availability of grabbing an organic fruit/vegetable from a convenient food stand.
