SITE DESCRIPTION
The school’s library is located in the center section of the 5th floor. The existing library has high vaulted ceilings with enough space for a second floor. The library has two entrances. The main entrance is on the west side and the auxiliary entrance is on the east side of the building. There is a small room connected to the library that stores older books and magazines
JOB DESCRIPTION
You are to design and create a new library. The library should be a community resource for collaborating creating and making. It should also adhere to and strive for the highest LEED rating possible.
The job entails the demolition of the all interior partitions and doors. Item to remain is the superstructure which includes the 1’ and 2’ thick walls and the columns. After demolition is complete, rebuilding of the library should commence.
The new library will include the following:
Computer Lab (300 sq. ft.)
Conference Room (200 sq. ft.)
Study Room (500 sq. ft.)
Video Viewing Room (150 sq. ft.)
Storage Room (250 sq. ft.)
Office (150 sq. ft.)
Café (250 sq. ft.)
