Hi JRabinowitz. Thanks for starting a cafeteria design project. We're looking forward to seeing your creative work. Are you planning on submitting this project for judging in the 2012 DiscoverDesign National High School Architecture Competition? .
All the details and the forms for entering the competition can be found here: www.discoverdesign.org/Competition2012
If you're wondering about what to include in this section, consider writing a description of the big problems you will be trying to solve in your cafeteria redesign.
I respectfully decline
The description needs work. Try to put your ideas or problems in paragraph form.
This is a good start to figuring out programmatic needs. I would learn more about the existing environment, like how many people occupy the space, accessibility (ADA), daylighting and views, circulation. You say that the cafeteria is poor design...why and how is it poor design? Is it related to circulation/accessibility? If it is, then maybe that can be your main focus for your design.
Jeff-
You should upload text and/or pics to your brainstorming section. This is due Monday 4/2. It seems Robinson, the architect, has given you some excellent advice. Looking forward to seeing where you go with this.
Ms. Bergoffen
Please email me 2 images from your cafeteria Sketchup on Thursday April 5:
A. At the start of the period to see your progress so far
B. At the end of the period so that I can see your progress during class.
These will go into my gradebook as your final grades of the 3rd quarter.
Have a great spring break!
