Nick and Hassan's Locker Design

Summary

We Brainsotrmed ideas by finding a problem with the original locker designs and thought of ways to improve them. A huge problem that i identified from the begining was that the lockers below the top lockers could be hard to reach with so many people trying to get to their lockers at once. So we have created a locker that is about 5 feet tall all together versus having two lockers over and under each other making it easier to get to the locker instead of having to lean down/get on hands and knees just to get to locker. The original locker measures 2feet and 6inches in height with an 11 inch width on the inside. On the outside the lockers from top to bottom measure about 5 feet in height the width being exactly 1foot in diameter of each locker. With the new design we wanted to create a locker that has about 3 times the space as the original design. The main focus for us was to create a locker that is about twice the size of the original. with that being said we wanted to do that because of the artical we read about students simpily just not using lockers because they feel like they do not have enough space to use their lockers. Text books are getting larger and bookbags continue to get fatter and heavier so something has to be done about where we store these things throughout the day. A new locker design. As time goes by technology improves making it more and more easy to access information or Things you want/need with just the click of a button or things like a simple fingerprint scan to open up the door to your house/car/locker etc... In this locker design we desided to add some state of the art technology to fit some wants and some possible needs that students may have throughout the school day. A fingerprint scanner to open the locker, separate compartments for storing wet/sweaty clothes,an outlet for what ever things a student may need to use in school like a microwave to heat up lunch or a phone/iPod charger. We have tried to adapt the locker to the needs of the students.
