Summary

In order to properly brainstorm ideas for the site chosen I looked at already existing parks that are well known throughout the valley and the community that they are located in. In the North side of town we have the "Butterfly Park". This park has water fixtures, large slides, multiple playgrounds, and is located near a soccer field that is regularly used. Inside the park kids and adults of the like are able to ride bikes and have spaces to run as well. There is an abundance of space for kids to run around and explore. In contrast there is the Mountain's Edge Recreational park. This park is much newer than the Butterfly park and has interactive playgrounds and thought it is not as big, it uses the space it exists in ingeniously. There are multiple shaded structures to sit and eat near the playgrounds so that kids can rest and so that adults can watch their children at play. There are also structures in which the children can climb safely without the parents having to worry much about them doing so. Similarly, there are also spaces to play sports and a field located beside the park much like the Butterfly park. These aspects can and should be taken into account designing the site on Garces and 6th.
