Urban Sanctuary
Summary
By researching a variety of different pocket parks around the nation, I have developed a few ideas concerning how I feel my pocket park should look like, as well as certain elements I feel should be included into the design. Many of my inspiration comes from pocket parks from very urban areas like New York and a variety of other large cities. I feel that this urban aesthetic has not only a professional look to it, but will also provide a park that stands out from other parks in the area. I feel I wanted to incorporate elements that individualize the park, and thus give the area its own unique aesthetic creating a sense of unity within the surrounding community. That is the purpose of a park after all: to provide an area that supports unity within the community.
