Summary

Dynamic Designs is an architecture firm that rebuilds structures to make the building more modern, have more space, and to ensure that the building is eco-friendly. Dynamic Designs is a very unique architectural company because they incorporate nature into the buildings they redesign. The team believes that nature in an environment brings peace to the people and gives the people a sense of belonging. Dynamic Designs made all changes the kitchen staff requested. The team expanded the cafeteria, making it two stories, expanded the kitchen, made a storage room for the equipment, added air condition to the kitchen, and created more checkout lines to steady the traffic. The trip to San Francisco and Frank Lloyd Wright were two great sources of inspiration. Frank Lloyd Wright inspired the team to make a unique, nature setting in the cafeteria. San Francisco gave us many ideas to include into the structure, as well as a rooftop garden.

“As an exterior director, I learned the importance of having a building that will catch the communities’ eye. The community needs to feel welcome in the building that was redesigned. The exterior is very important but you have to work with the interior to make the two elements both fit in together. I advanced in my skills on sketch-up and it was a great experience, even though I had a difficult time with sketch-up, I got through the difficulties and make the final product. ” Nadiya Klymenko- Director of Exterior Design

“Being the director of the Interior Design has been an interesting experience and also an inspiring experience. I’ve learned how to redesign and remodel parts in the interior building that is suitable for all people that enter. Although working on the project was not always enjoyable to do, but committing to it and working hard together as a group made it a lot more encouraging. Gathering information and researching gave me a different sense of architecture. A sense that benefited me very well. ” Diana Kravets- Director of Interior Building Design

“The architect project helped me understand that designing interior décor focuses more on the ideas of the entire group than just your own ideas. There are times where I had to revise my designs, so that they would coincide with my group’s vision. I leaned the importance of teamwork and communication. Interior décor is focused more on the needs of the public, than the ideas of the designer. I never occurred to me how much influence the community and the builders have on the interior design of a public structure.” Mariya Skots Director of Interior Décor

“I had a great experience being the director of landscaping, I learned about water resistant flowers, year round flowers, and vegetables that would benefit the cafeteria. I learned how to use sketch-up and finalize the product we are creating.” Anna Merkushev- Director of Landscaping

“The thing that I learned after finishing this project as the director of sustainability and energy efficiency was the big commitment and effort it actually took to finish this architecture project. I acknowledge the fact that huge projects like this cannot be taken lightly to earn a good grade and realize that working in a group takes patience and understandability. I now recognize that remodeling a structure makes all the directors of the group interact and work with each other to produce quality work. I also learned that there are many different types of programs that encourage saving energy and reducing the carbon footprint which makes a positive effect on the whole world. Overall I feel that working with my architecture firm was a delightful experience.” Vera Barsukova-Director of Sustainability and Energy Efficiency

“From my experience as being a member on Dynamic Designs, I wanted to say I learned a great deal about the community and architecture itself. I am thankful I got this chance to participate in redesigning Mira Loma’s cafeteria. This project opened my eyes to how many steps there are to get a building in the process of building. I also learned there are many requirements the architects need to follow in order for the building process to even start. I learned that if an architect wants to redesign or build on any building, that is not a home, they have to incorporate the community in the building somehow. The community plays a large role because they will be one of the income sources for the building, and they are the activity flow within the building. Without people there is nothing, so in everything you build remember to unite the community into that building.” Rufa Pazyuk- Director of Community Relations
