Summary

As our project came to the final stages of its creation, we received great feedback from other groups concerning problems with our design and how we could possibly fix them. For the final product we decided to have our garden run straight through the center of our cafeteria. With a garden and fountain on the bottom story and another garden on the roof, in the pyramid skylight. We also chose to have four, huge solar panels run across a good portion of our roof. This way we can access all sunlight that is exposed to it daily. For the arcade area when decided that having gaming stations would't be a smart idea due to the high necessity of electricity. We did keep the space though and used it as a lounge area so that there could be an extension from the cafe and allow for a hang-out spot. Now even though we still a risk in having this social area, students will only be able to use it during appropriate times. Such as at break, lunch, or even after school so that the students could have an alternate place to hang out and study while still being at school.
Now back to the community garden, we will be using the space as both a garden and a learning area. This will be shown by the produce that will be supplied for the salad bar or lunches and it will also be a place for students in junior high, elementary, or high school to come and learn about agriculture and how place work. There will also be chances for classes to come in and raise and plant there own plants, in either garden. Also, we started thinking about emergency exits and realized we did not have any, originally, so we made sure to put two on the second floor and one on the roof.
