Summary

After many suggestions and revisions the project has arrived at its final stage. The final design is of a three story, sustainable, and energy efficient building in the center of Mira Loma High School. The building will be built out of recycled materials to make the construction process more eco-friendly. The building itself will contain solar panels, dual-glazed windows, denim insulation, recyclable water, and lots of windows for natural light. Every room will contain a sensor that turns off the light when no one is in the room and regulates the light bulbs based on the amount of natural light coming in. The exterior of the building will have a lot of windows and will have a rock type pattern on the wall and the doors will be made out of glass. On the interior of the building the floor will be a pattern of dark colors and the walls will also be a dark color. On the first floor there will be bookshelves and kindles that offer not only students but the community a wide range of resources. On this floor the librarians desk and office is located. The second floor will contain computers and a presentation room. The presentation room can also be used as a meeting room depending on the layout of the chairs. The presentation will be available for the public and the students. The third floor is designed to be a quiet study area, but will also contain separate rooms in which the students can work on projects and the community can use for similar purposes. The garden will be located outside the library with windows looking down on it so that students can enjoy the scenery from the outside and inside. The garden will have flowers and bamboo but will be tended to by volunteers from the community.
