Summary

When creating our redesign of the library all of our directors at Urban Stamp Inc. envisioned a very similar design for the library. Although some of our ideas may seem a little far-fetched as well as just overall impossible, we dedicated enough time and effort to find all possible solutions to any problems that may arise when building the new library.
We decided that we would completely knock down the inner walls of the library as well as the counselor’s office walls. We’re expanding the bottom floor by taking over what use to be known as the bike racks. We are also going to add another story.
The first floor of the library can be best represented by the current reference room as well as library. It contains the librarian’s desk, her office, bathrooms, a stair case, an elevator, tables, chairs, and a great amount of book shelves. We’ve thought about the idea of adding a few computers but we’re still not completely sold on the idea. The first floor also contains the Zen garden which is in a c shape surrounding boulders which enclose the pond that surround the tree. It is completely a beautiful site to see.
The second floor can best be represented by the current tech room. We also added a few other rooms. We’ve actually placed a storage room into the library which will contain both books not being in use as well as the C.O.W.S (computers on wheels) and any other technology that might need storage space. In our current design we have chosen to completely eliminate our current computers and use laptops instead because we find them more functional for the students. We would like to have eight circular tables with four laptops on them so that would be a total of thirty two computers. We also have lined up ten computers against the glass window so that would be a grand total of forty two computers. There’s a desk upstairs that will belong to the supervisor that connects to a room that prints, scans, and copies. We have added four additional rooms in this space that are for practicing presentations, relaxation/homework, guest speakers, and a collaboration room.
Right now our company’s biggest problem is making sure that there is enough room in this space for us to implement all of the wonderful ideas we have.
