Site Descriptions: The site is located between 2 inner courtyards on the 5th floor of Brooklyn Technical High School
Design Brief: You are to renovate your high school library and redesign how it should or could potentially function around a persons' needs along with consideration of modern technological advances and students' study and working changes. You are to redesign the interior space and/or expand the current existing space while maintaining functions of a typical library as well as providing seating for students, book/media storage, space for at least 2 librarians, computer area, audio/visual labs, meeting spaces, information kiosk, café, workshop space.
You are to redesign the library space to the following requirements:
Lower Level:
Librarian/Checkout stations (100 sq. ft)
Book/Media Storage (2000 sq. ft)
Student Seating (500 sq. ft)
Audio/Visual Lab (600 sq. ft)
Meeting Space (600 sq. ft)
Workshop (600 sq. ft)
Upper Level
Study area (500 sq. ft)
Computer Lab (600 sq. ft)
Cafe (600 sq. ft)
