The idea of a new building for the library is very intriguing. This is a more radical idea an simply working with the existing library. You will need to ask yourself additional questions: how does the new building connect to and relate to the other buildings, in scale, materials and colors? You mention in your 'Collect Info' about the busy hallway right outside the existing library entrance. Will the new library facilitate efficient access for the students, faculty and general public?

I like the idea of changing the library's location. If you move the library to the middle of the existing quad, will you be moving the quad as well?

I do also agree with the above statements. I like how you are utilizing an existing space that is not necessarily being used right now. Something to keep in mind is how the cafeteria be affected when the library is situated directly in front of doors. Also, how will you be monitoring the amount of eating in the library now that it is in front of the cafeteria?

Also will the size of the library sort of overwhelm the other buildings in the school. Will the library be a giant college sized college?

It's great that you guys are thinking outside of the box in placing the library in a bigger area. Did you guys think about where the students will hang out during lunch? Mira Loma has around 1600 students, there needs to be space for them to hang out, and you guys picked the space where people mostly hang out during break and lunch. We would suggest sticking to the old library area or pick a space where that not much students occupy during lunch.

The library will be build up instead of across. The library will not allow food as in the current library. The quad will have to be moved to an alternate location.

We would suggest to built your library closer to other building, so it would be easier for student and teachers to access it.
