Redesign your school library | 2013 National High School Architecture Competition #314

This is the wall section of the library (you are facing North) which exposes much of both views of first and second floors, including the roof.

This section is wonderful for showing how the spaces function. Some renderings of material would make it even better. I am an architect from Toronto serving on the 2013 competition jury. Just a mild caution to watch your grammar in your presentation descriptions; it is a sign of professionalism. It's a great project that shows a lot of imagination. Be aware that so much window space, in the walls and the roof, would make the space very hot and expensive to air condition, which is important for books. Nice idea to have a cafe, although I would find the entrance snake somewhat unnerving. Please be sure to name the sources of your idea photos: the building and the architect. There was not much change from the penultimate stage to the final stage, but I appreciate how you fleshed out the renderings. You may want to look at some of the libraries in Barcelona, Spain, by Josep LLinas. I would have enjoyed seeing some of your sketches! This is a really great project and I enjoyed visiting it.
