Creating Form: I decided to use the operative word Triumph as my concept. Triumph is defined as a great victory or achievement and THS is known for its excellence. It has a history of both academic and athletic excellence. Every year we have competed in various league and county championships and several of our teams have made it into the state tournaments. When creating the form of the models I decided that this great achievement would not be acquired individually, but as a group or team. This is how I created my first concept, by using smaller parts to construct and support the final pinnacle moment of the model. The forms are created out of individual units of different sizes and shapes, to show the diversity both ethnically and by expertise, of the students and faculty at THS. When these units are put together the whole is able to triumph as a group - core with the school’s ideals.

It is great that you are exploring through modeling. I would consider using your word, 'triumph' in a scenario or creating goals for your design using the word. It may help you narrow down what you need as well as a concept. For instance, 'Tenafly High school triumphs in basketball through great coaching and practice.' You can use this sentence in architecture to emphasize and create an amazing basketball court and program and then design the other spaces around the statement. What does 'triumph' look like in architecture?

I like your concept of triumph and how you link it back to your school's success; however, I would consider introducing that concept in your overview as well so that the view knows which direction you are going and can see how that research and brainstorming ideas were directed to fulfill your concept.
