I used Google map's street view to get a three dimensional picture of our school, and I drew a location of the sun during daytime. In order to take an advantage of sung light, the new building has to face south. Although it is ideal to have a building that gets a lot of sunlight, from March to October, the sunlight in California is too strong that buildings can be heated up easily. Instead of getting rid of every windows, I came up with an idea to use a window blind to control the light that comes in.
