I conducted a survey among the students and community around the school. The question was: If Curie had a bike shelter, would you use it? If not, Why? 85% said yes and 15% said no. Would you be comfortable leaving your bike in the shelter? If not, what could the school do to accommodate you? 50% said yes and 50% said no. What amenities should the bike shelter have? Showers? Bike repair? Café? This question had various of answers. Some said showers, some said café, but the majority said that they should put the bike repair. Should the bike shelter serve the community also? 63% said no and 37% said yes. They think that it would be better just for students and staff because it’s on schools property. How many bikes should the shelter store? There were many different answers; the majority said that it would fit more than 100 bikes in the room. How much should Curie charge for this service? Daily? Monthly? The results were 27% said daily and 73% said monthly. The majority said that it would be better for month than each day. This project would improve transportation and improve the community around the school. The bikes would be safe in school property. Even staff of the school would take their bikes. There would be all kinds of features… café, showers, and a bike repair for the ones they need some improvements.
