I made a dome because it would let in a lot of natural light for the swimmer which reduce heating costs and and lighting cost during the day.

Remember that sunshine in the winter time does help to reduce heating costs in the winter but will drastically increase cooling cost in the spring, summer and fall. Any time you propose a daylight solution, make sure to include exterior shading or some other means of evacuating heat gain.
