To accentuate the space requirements, yet to provide a shaded environment out of the scorching Las Vegas heat, I decided that a Willow Acacia would be a fantastic addition. A low-water and enduring alternative to weeping willow, which is short-lived in desert regions. Graceful, pendulous evergreen leaves on trees that grow rapidly from 20 to 40 feet high, spreading 10 to 20 feet wide. Creamy white puffball flowers bloom late summer into winter. The narrow trunks and wide canopies take minimal ground space, but allow a filtered light effect to reach resting visitors to Goodman Gardens.
