In order to tie this new park for my community into my school I decided to use the buildings weird and interesting features such as the various angles of the structure itself.

Although this is a very good idea, I feel there was a better way to tie it with the school and the community.

Schools, like parks, are usually always built for function and forum with a budget. Borrowing ideas from a neighborhood school is useful in both feeling the vibe of an area, connecting the new to the old, and achieving design which the residents will be more likely to accept and enjoy.
