This is a view of the rotunda in the center of my park. This rotunda captures the attention of anyone who sees my pictures. It stands out because of how humongous it is and obviously provides shade and a sense of classical architecture.
You can even include links to a YouTube or Vimeo of a digital walk-through like this one: https://youtu.be/ncaVQ2V6XXU
Adaptive Reuse
Architects often find creative ways to reuse old structures that are no longer in use. Check out how old rail lines were adapted to create New York's High Line and Chicago's 606.

The design and layout are great, but it would be pretty amazing to see out of the spheres like some kind of skylight. It would a local attraction and just pretty fricken cool!
It's great that you are thinking about shade and the needs of people in the park. To get a more classical influence on your design, I would keep it to one dome and add some more ornament. Or I would keep it contemporary and change the columns. This central structure is so important to your park, you don't want to confuse your styles!
