Including an image of a positive example is a great idea. I understand a little bit more about what your intentions are as a designer. I would suggest that when you see a space you like that you also do a plan sketch including a few key dimensions. Sketching spaces you like is an excellent way of recording technical things such as how big a salad bar is, how much room is needed between dining tables, and what the path of travel is from entry to serving line to table.
