Your design is great! But I would think about only keeping the clerestory windows because that will already filter in a lot of light. With a roof pitch that you have right now, it will be very difficult to keep glass at that angle. And when it rains, the water will go down real quickly creating a waterfall near your outdoor seating area. Is this what you are wanting?

Looks great! I see that you have definitely thought about lighting which is great. Is there a site plan with an orientation on it so I know which way is North, so that I can give you more feedback on your design. Also think about structure because how is the glass going to stay up there? Is it glass? Glass is really heavy.

I think this is a good start to designing the form and environment of your cafeteria. You can definitely use this idea in your design to create an interesting form based on site context as well as developing a building envelope that can improve the thermal comfort of the space. Other aspects to consider: glazing, solar orientation, passive solar techniques, occupancy sensors/controls.

Keith-

You have some good info in the data collection section, but we need to see your ideas for improvement, with text and pics, in the brainstorming section. Brainstorming should be completed by Monday 4/12.
