Formal institutions are different from the informal in terms of their system. In schools, colleges and universities unlike the home a proper research paper way is used to get other people educated, and after giving education proper test systems are introduces to check.

Will there be multable lines for one booth so that the line does not extend too far past the rope and become a clot of people? And what about an entrance and exit area?

Your seating arrangement is quite unique and it would invite more people to eat there(especially the booths!) but how do you plan on bringing in the community? Is the new cafeteria exclusively for dining?

Great effort all around guys! It's been really fun seeing your work develop and change over the last weeks.

I applaud you willingness and ability to adapt your design this late in the process, your solution to the separating the service area seems like it can be really effective. I'm not sure if I'm reading the model correctly, but it looks like that food service space is only a single story which means the roof could be a great patio/deck for more dining space off of the second floor!

I still take some issue with your decision to make the buildings completely round - while it does provide more 'space' i don't think you ever really resolved what those spaces would be used for...how they would be populated. The image above is a perfect example - you've laid out a nice efficient design for the dining furniture that just floats in the middle of the round space - the way that you've squared of the food service and restrooms with unused space behind is kind of an indictment too...

Take a look at this very cool library by Mecanoo architects...they've inserted a round element into the building and it really succeeds at making it dynamic and REALLY cool, but the bulk of the building is pretty orthogonal and completely packed with program.

I think you've done a really good job of programming and improving your cafeteria, but i really don;t have any understanding of what this building will look like - this would've been a great next step for you guys. which portions of the exterior are glazed? what is the building made of? your handmade models seem to imply that the whole things is glazed -even bathrooms and janitor closets - this could use more articulation for sure.

In general though - GREAT WORK GUYS - I wish i could've been on skype with you all - i'd lveo to know what you thought of doing the project...fun? challenging? boring?
