Redesign Your School Athletic Pavilion | 2014 National High School Architecture Competition #195

Summary

HCST Athletic Pavilion
The initial idea for my pavilion is to provide students with the following:
- At least 1 futsal court
- A minimum of two Basketball courts
- A volleyball Court
- Two Locker rooms
- A Hallway which connects our existing facilities
- Small, pullout (?) bleachers.
- Outside Racquetball court
The students of High Tech high school show great interest in recreational activities. This is why it is important to supply them a variety of options to play courts for many different sports. In addition to this, many students seem to enjoy soccer, however there currently is not an existing are to play. A futsal court can give these students an area to play and it may possibly be the beginning steps to making High Tech’s first futsal team. The locker rooms will be close to the courts so that students may quickly shower or change before their next class. Another great function of the building is that it protects the children from harsh weather conditions when they are on their way to the APA building.
The location of the building will definitely be the lot which is connecting High Tech to the APA building, however the buildings will not directly connect. The discussed location can be viewed in the image that is linked below:
