This section perspective is the best thing I have seen! It provides so much information on your building. Bright color choices for the exterior and interior make a huge statement and adds excitement to an environment that is all about energy and being active. You are right about not using really dark colors for you building because the cooling load would be up the roof. But I would caution you about the bright purple. It looks really dark. Its good to see that you are thinking about color because gyms need that. I have really enjoyed your attention to the program and creating experiential spaces throughout your pavilion. Drawings and renderings are great especially putting scalies into your renderings to see how the space will be like. The only thoughts I have, is that a floor plan would be great. And something you can add to help me understand your knowledge of daylighting is to create this exact section perspective to show light flow. Great job!

This is a very nice drawing which really sells your design ideas well. I hope that you have an interest in this profession (or at least one of the design professions) because you have a talent for this. I enjoyed reviewing your project.

Take a look at the work of Alvaro Siza, Alberto Kalach and Tadao Ando if you are interested. You won't see the strong colors used, but their (3 different) approaches to designing spaces might interest you.

Have fun!

I like the bleachers very much. The lights and ceiling would need to be rather sturdy in case (or actually when) they are hit by basketballs. You would probably want that clerestory window to face north or explore options to shade the windows from the outside to eliminate glare.

This is a terrific space. I would love to have access to a space like this while at school. Also, a nice choice of furniture and overall colors.

You are right about the dark colors. It would be brutal in your climate. LB was a terrific architect. I was also completely blown away the first time I saw the way that he used colors. I like your bold move on the façade. It makes a statement with what is often can be a mundane building type. I think that it would instill pride in students if their schools weren't just a polite, lined up set of barns.
