This is the exterior of the athletic pavilion. I had originally wanted to paint the outside a dark black color but then I reminded myself that I live in Las Vegas where the temperatures get all the way up to the triple digits. So I was inspired by Luis Barragan and decided to paint it the vibrant school color.

You are right about the dark colors. It would be brutal in your climate. LB was a terrific architect. I was also completely blown away the first time I saw the way that he used colors. I like your bold move on the façade. It makes a statement with what is often can be a mundane building type. I think that it would instill pride in students if their schools weren't just a polite, lined up set of barns.
