It would be great to know more of what you are thinking for controlling the sunshine - they can be great design opportunities.

Good observations. Natural light is great and with careful handling the downsides can be managed. Clerestories are often good options for gyms - allowing for control with blinds and overhangs also minimizes heat gain.
