Summary

To collect information i for one had to determine the problems that needed to be addressed and if it was really necessary to tear down the existing gym completely. I came to the realization that i could salvage the building and renovate it, with that in mind and also the fact that it would drastically reduce the price of a new gym, I came up with different options on what i should to by accounting both pictures and past gyms/schools I've seen in the past and have actually been inside of. To that I concluded that my current gymnasium needed much improvement in space and sizing of rooms, ex. the locker rooms are too small to accommodate the number of students enrolled in physical education classes, so to increase the sizes was essential, as well as recreating the weight room and removing the obscene glass wall that causes excess heat in the summer. With the increases in size, the potential for a second floor, no over the basketball courts, seemed like a good idea, especially if those rooms were either class rooms or multi-purpose rooms, like for clubs or club banquets. So my clear goal was to create a gym suitable for the increasing school population and allow students to have an area of solace for meetings of clubs or events.
