Pocket Park in Gardner
Summary
My final design incorporates all of my environmentally friendly ideas. The splash pad is free and runs on 75% recycled water. The ground for the playgrounds is shock absorbent recycled rubber. Also, I have over 15 low-maintenance trees to be planted in the sunny area, as well as a community garden that anyone can plant in. There are two recycling bins on the property along with two garbage cans, one set by each entrance/exit.

Adaptive Reuse
Architects often find creative ways to reuse old structures that are no longer in use. Check out how old rail lines were adapted to create New York's High Line and Chicago's 606.
