Summary

After choosing the specific site for my pocket park, I realized that many different elements were at play and many different aspects could influence the final design. Because this space lies near my old elementary school, I hope to activate the space with the schoolchildren and teachers in mind, but also cater to the needs of the general public as well. The already existing geographic features frame the space. The intersection of the railroad tracks and the bridge offer symbolic meanings that can affect the experience of the students, teachers, residents, and the community as a whole.
