Tiny Park, Giant Heart
Summary
Over the course of this project, my ideas of what a functional park should include have vastly changed. I never really considered taking into what's around the area to be that important to the success of the park itself. But it makes sense that just throwing in a patch of grass in an area without any rhyme or reason wouldn't be the best idea. So doing all of this research for this park was an eye opener. I realized a playground wouldn't fit so well with this area, a water park would stick out like a sore thumb, and I really wanted to park to remain handicap accessible all throughout. In the end my design became a very passive type of park where the visitors of it would be met with different options to sit and bright flowers to admire.

Adaptive Reuse
Architects often find creative ways to reuse old structures that are no longer in use. Check out how old rail lines were adapted to create New York's High Line and Chicago's 606.
