Summary

The site was analyzed to further determine the use of the space at the intersection of 6th Street and Garces Avenue. The proposed site is surrounded by law offices, so a park that promotes tranquil activities such as reading should be incorporated. The site is approximately 140 feet by 100 feet, falling well under the allotted square footage for the project. Shade structures should be located around the park with benches to provide a feeling of relaxation to pedestrians and other visitors to the park. In addition, the pocket park should include a restroom so that people can still experience the convenience of an on-site restroom for both genders. Not only should the restroom be included, but it should also conform to ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) standards. The park will truly be accessible to everyone by incorporating some ADA standards. Ultimately, the park should meet the needs of each individual.
