Desert Sands Park
Summary
After developing a few solutions, the final design incorporated the key aspects of the park. In the center of the park, a covered gazebo sits at an elevation of three feet. In the front of the park, there is a restroom that has both access to a men's and women's bathroom. On the back side of the park, there is a basketball court that is open to the public. Adjacent to the court is a covered eating area that has three tables and five simple barbecue grills. On each end of the park, there are also two outdoor fireplaces that circumscribe four benches and a centrally located tree.

Adaptive Reuse
Architects often find creative ways to reuse old structures that are no longer in use. Check out how old rail lines were adapted to create New York's High Line and Chicago's 606.
